Let’s talk about the moment strawberries decided they were done being dessert. Because this? This is strawberries in their spicy era. This strawberry salsa is what happens when sweet, juicy berries crash a savory party—and absolutely steal the spotlight.

You’ve got fresh strawberries bringing the sweetness, jalapeño adding just enough sass, lime keeping things zesty, and honey tying it all together like the friend who somehow gets along with everyone.

It’s bright. It’s bold. It’s a little unexpected (in the best way). And whether you’re scooping it up with cinnamon chips, piling it on grilled chicken, or pretending you made it just to “be fancy,” it delivers that perfect sweet-meets-savory bite every single time.

Bonus: it comes together in minutes, which means you can spend less time chopping and more time casually taking credit for how “gourmet” everything tastes.

I love to serve up this salsa with cinnamon chips (Stacy’s pita cinnamon chips) are my go-to. Or you can make homemade tortilla chips that are dusted in a cinnamon sugar mixture.

Whip up these air fryer churros for another tasty cinnamon and sugar treat. Or these strawberry cheesecake tacos are a sweet dessert made with strawberry pie filling.

What is strawberry salsa?

Strawberry salsa is a fruit salsa that has strawberries as the main ingredient. You get a sweet and spicy with savory components. This salsa can be used for dipping with cinnamon sugar chips, top a grilled chicken, fish, or even a salad topper.

This is a great alternative to a watermelon salsa or mango salsa. Give it a try as the ingredients are very balanced.

Reasons Why I Love This Fruit Salsa

  • Perfect way to use up fresh strawberries for the season.
  • Use as an appetizer or side, or as a flavor topper for protein.
  • Easy prep and quick to assemble.
  • Bursting with sweet, tangy, and savory flavors.
  • You can control the spice level. Go mild or create a spicy salsa.
ingrdients for strawberry salsa in bowls on counter. Diced strawberries, jalapneo, salt and pepper, honey, onion, lime and cilantro

Ingredients Needed For Recipe

  • Strawberries – Rinsed, and diced finely.
  • Lime – Juice and zest from lime.
  • Cilantro – Fresh cilantro, finely chopped.
  • Jalapeno – Remove seed and membrane, finely diced.
  • Honey – Honey or agave are great as the sweetener. (maple syrup makes it vegan!)
  • Onion – Red, finely diced.
  • Salt and Pepper – To taste.

Variations

  • Dice up pineapple, fresh or canned. If canned make sure to drain.
  • Fresh blueberries
  • Sprinkle in chili powder for added elements of flavor. Aim around 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Green onions in exchange of red onion.
  • Fresh mint can be used to enhance the flavor even more.
  • Toss in fresh peaches or even apricots for a tasty stone fruit flavor.

How to Make

Here is how you make the strawberry salsa. The full recipe is in the printable recipe card with the measurements. This is featured at the bottom of the post.

  1. Serve the salsa right away, or let it sit for 30 minutes in a covered dish in the fridge.

Expert Tips For Success

  • Finely dice all the ingredients. The size of the fruit will affect the flavor, so small pieces is key.
  • If you want the salsa to have some spice leave a few seeds in the jalapeno.
  • Make sure if your skin is sensitive to wear gloves when you work with the jalapenos.
  • Allowing the salsa to sit 30 minutes helps to blend the flavors even more.

FAQs

How to pick ripe strawberries?

Look for deep red, plump, and fragrant berries. It is important to make sure there are not soft spots, bruising, or mold growing on the berries. Also, pale colored strawberries are not ripe.

Can I eat the stems of cilantro?

You can chop up the cilantro steps and use in the salsa. You will find the stems carry a lot of flavor in herbs. If you don’t mind the texture you can use the stems. If you prefer to not have stems simply discard.

Is it okay if there is juice at bottom of bowl?

Strawberries release liquid as they sit in the fridge. If you find you are getting liquid at the bottom of the bowl you can drain it off, or just strain before serving if you want.

  • ½ cup cilantro chopped
  • Juice and zest of one lime
  • 2 tsp. Honey

  • Pinch of black pepper more or less to taste

Notes

Jalapeno – Remove the seeds and white membrane to create a mild salsa. Or leave some seeds if you want some heat to the salsa. Use gloves when working with jalapenos as the oil can be harsh on sensitive skin.
Refrigerate – Allowing the salsa to refrigerate for 30 minutes is going to blend the flavors even more. Now you do not have to refrigerate for 30 minutes. You can serve it up right away.
Onion – If you don’t want red onion you can finely chop green onions for a twist in flavor.

If you love crunchy snacks and pasta, this Air Fryer Crispy Tortellini is about to become your new favorite go-to recipe. Instead of boiling and serving tortellini the usual way, we’re breading and air frying these little pasta pillows until they’re golden, crisp, and irresistibly crunchy on the outside while staying soft and cheesy on the inside — all with far less oil than traditional frying.

Fried tortellini is delicious, but I wanted to eliminate the oil and create a “healthier” version to my favorite snack, appetizer, or even lunch option. Also, try my crunchy tortilla chips made in the air fryer. Serve with pizza sauce, marinara, or eat the seasoned tortellini alone.

Give this air-fried tortellini appetizer a try and enjoy. Great for holidays, parties, and of course, game day snack food. Place on a serving platter with some crisp vegetables, and your favorite dipping sauce, and serve up as a party appetizer. Or drizzle with a little sauce or olive oil and dive in.

Try out my Instant Pot Rigatoni for another delicious pasta dinner idea. This is made with Italian sausage and a creamy marinara sauce mixture.

Ingredients and Variations

Tortellini – You can use fresh refrigerator tortellini or frozen for this recipe. I used classic cheese-stuffed tortellini, but feel free to buy whatever tortellini you want.

Bread Crumbs – I used seasoned bread crumbs to minimize the number of ingredients. But you can swap for plain and add in your favorite seasonings. Italian seasoning is another option to add to plain bread crumbs.

Egg – This is the wet mixture you will dip the pasta in, then dredge in the bread crumbs.

Oil – I used avocado oil to spritz the tortellini with. This will help to provide that golden crust you want.

Marinara – OPTIONAL but delicious.

Here is a visual walkthrough on how to make crispy air-fried tortellini. The full directions and ingredient measurements are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Step One: Preheat your air fryer as directed. I recommend preheating for 5 minutes to ensure the air fryer is nice and hot.

Step Two: Whisk eggs and place in a bowl, bread crumbs in another bowl and then work on dredging.

Step Three: Dip each tortellini pasta in the egg, followed by bread crumbs. Place in air fryer basket or tray.

Step Four: Air Fry, and spritz with oil if needed to help create a golden crust on the outside. I flip half way through the cook time and spritz the other side of the pasta.

Skip the fried appetizers and try this crispy tortellini recipe using your air fryer.

Garnish with fresh basil, parsley, additional seasoning, or even additional parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I find a pop of fresh herbs helps to add color.

Pro Tips For Success

  • Place your tortellini in a single layer in your basket or air-fryer tray. Otherwise, they will not cook evenly.
  • Shake off excess egg and bread crumbs, making sure it isn’t too heavily coated, it can make a mess.
  • Place an air fryer parchment liner to help prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Air fry in batches if you want to make extra. Then keep the extras warm in the oven at 200 degrees, placed in a single layer on a lined baking sheet.

Storing Leftovers

Refrigerate: You can store any tortellini you don’t eat in the fridge for 3-5 days. They will become softer in texture once cooled down. But to get a crispy texture again, you can warm them back up in the air fryer for a few minutes.

Freezing: Feel free to freeze any of your tortellini for up to 3 months. Just place in a freezer bag or container that is freezer-approved. Thaw in the fridge and reheat or warm up straight from the freezer.

❓Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a taco ring?

A taco ring is a baked dish made with crescent dough, where seasoned taco meat and cheese are arranged in a ring and wrapped with crescent dough. It’s a fun and easy alternative to traditional tacos and is perfect for sharing.

Can I make this taco ring ahead of time?

Yes! You can assemble the taco ring up to 24 hours in advance, cover it tightly, and refrigerate. When ready to bake, add a few extra minutes to the baking time since it will be chilled.

What meat works best for a taco ring?

Ground beef is the most popular choice, but you can easily substitute ground turkey, ground chicken, or even shredded rotisserie chicken. For a vegetarian taco ring, use black beans, refried beans, or a plant-based meat alternative.

Can I use different dough instead of crescent rolls?

Crescent rolls work best for a classic taco ring, but puff pastry or crescent dough sheets can also be used. Just keep in mind that baking times may vary slightly.

How do I keep the taco ring from getting soggy?

Be sure to drain excess grease from the cooked meat and let it cool slightly before assembling the ring. Avoid adding wet toppings like salsa or sour cream until after baking.

What toppings go well with a taco ring?

Popular taco ring toppings include shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, pico de gallo, black olives, and jalapeños. Adding toppings after baking keeps the crescent dough crisp.

Can I freeze leftover taco ring?

Yes! Let leftovers cool completely, then wrap tightly and freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.

Quick Share On How to Make

Mix the sauce ingredients together and store the sauce in a bowl, covered, or in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Tips for Cutting The Onion for A Blooming Onion

Cut off ½ inch from the top of the onion, then peel off the outer skin. Position the onion cut-side down on a flat kitchen board.

Start by cutting ½ inch from the root in a downward direction until you reach the board, then repeat to achieve four evenly spaced cuts around the entire onion.

Make three cuts between each section, for a total of 16 cuts. Turn the onion over and let it sit for 5 minutes so the petals relax. You’re going to gently separate the outer pieces of the onion with your fingers just before breading.

a white bowl with a breaded blooming onion on the table with flour to the top of the table in a plate

Breading The Onion

Whisk together the flour, paprika, cayenne, cumin, thyme, and oregano in a large bowl. Whisk the eggs, milk, and 1 cup of water in a separate medium bowl with depth.

Add the onion to a clean bowl with the cut side upwards and pour the dry mixture on top. Use a large spoon to coat the onion, paying particular attention to the onion petals. Turn the onion over and gently pat off any excess flour. Reserve the bowl of flour.

Place the onion in the egg mixture and coat it evenly. Remove the onion and allow any excess mixture to drip off before transferring it back to the reserved flour mixture, then repeat the entire process.

Air Fry Onion

Remove the onion from the fridge and spray it generously with cooking oil. Make a sling from aluminum foil to transfer the onion, cut-side up, into the air fryer basket. Cook the onion for 25 minutes, spraying it with oil 2-3 times as it cooks.

Remove the onion from the air fryer with the help of the foil sling and season it. Enjoy your air fryer blooming onion with dip!

Tips & Tricks

  • Choose the right onion – Sweet onions like Vidalia work best for blooming onions because they’re mild, tender, and open easily when cut.
  • Use a sharp knife – Clean cuts help the onion bloom properly and reduce tearing while cutting.
  • Let the onion rest after cutting – Allowing it to sit for 5 minutes helps the petals relax and separate more easily.
  • Don’t skip the oil spray – Light, even sprays of oil are key to getting that crispy, golden coating in the air fryer.
  • Spray in stages – Re-spray the onion 2–3 times during cooking for maximum crunch.
  • Chill before air frying – Refrigerating the breaded onion helps the coating stick and crisp better.
  • Customize the seasoning – Swap or add spices like chili powder, smoked paprika, or garlic powder to change the flavor profile.
  • Prevent watery eyes – Chill the onion in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before cutting to reduce eye irritation.
close up of an air fried blooming onion that is nice and crispy and battered

Best Onion to Use

  • Sweet onions (Vidalia) = best flavor + bloom
  • Yellow onions = okay backup
  • Avoid red onions (too firm, uneven cook)

Air Fry Time May Vary

  • Basket-style air fryers tend to have longer cooking times than oven-style air fryers.
  • Check at 20 minutes, and if you feel it needs longer, cook for another 5-10 minute increments.
  • Larger onions may need extra time as there is a lot more onion to cook.

Seasoning Variations

Here are a few ways to change up the flavor of your blooming onion! Get creative and try your favorite spices and seasonings to create your own flavoring mixture.

  • Spicy (extra cayenne or chili powder)
  • Smoky (smoked paprika)
  • Ranch-style (ranch seasoning mix)
  • Creole seasoning would be delicious and add a nice spice factor

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a blooming onion take in the air fryer?

An air-fried blooming onion takes about 25 minutes at 350°F, with oil sprayed a few times during cooking for maximum crispiness.

Can I make a blooming onion without deep frying?

Yes! This air fryer blooming onion recipe gives you the same crispy texture as deep frying, but with significantly less oil.

What is the best onion for a blooming onion?

Sweet onions like Vidalia are best because they’re mild, tender, and bloom beautifully when cut.

Why isn’t my blooming onion crispy?

Make sure the onion is evenly coated, generously oiled, and cooked at the proper temperature. Skipping oil or overcrowding the air fryer can result in soggy food.

Can I prep a blooming onion ahead of time?

Yes. You can bread the onion and refrigerate it for up to 1 hour before air frying.

  • Remove the onion from the fridge and spray it generously with cooking oil. Make a sling from aluminum foil to transfer the onion cut-side up into the air fryer basket. Cook the onion for 25 minutes, spraying it with oil 2-3 times as it cooks.
  • Remove the onion from the air fryer with help from the foil sling and season it. Enjoy your air fryer blooming onion with dip!

Variations to the Recipe

Here are ways to elevate this classic recipe. This grape jelly meatball recipe is a hit for holiday potlucks, baby showers, game day fun, and more.

  • Use cranberry sauce in place of grape jelly, equal parts. This will make them tasty cranberry meatballs with a sweet and sour flavor.
  • You can use turkey meatballs instead of beef or sausage.
  • Reach for 2 containers of little smokies to replace a bag of frozen meatballs.
  • Instead of frozen, pre-made meatballs, make your own.
  • Swap the grape jelly with orange marmalade for a twist in flavor. It makes this a sweeter meatball sauce.
  • Make chili sauce meatballs instead. Reach for Heinz Chili Sauce instead of BBQ sauce for a nice spicy sauce.

Can I Use Chili Sauce Instead of Barbecue Sauce

Yes, you can replace barbecue sauce with chili sauce. That is another popular way to make crockpot meatballs.

I personally prefer BBQ, but the chili sauce, grape jelly, and meatballs offer more of a sweet and spicy pairing.

Can I Cook Grape Jelly Meatballs on the Stove

Yep! Toss in your homemade or frozen meatballs into a pan. If homemade, cook the meatballs in a bit of oil to sear them first.

Then, when ready, pour grape jelly and barbecue all over the meatballs. Move the heat to low and stir often.

If cooking from frozen, you can cover the meatballs and slowly warm them for about 30 minutes. You can cook these meatballs longer if you would like to lock in even more flavor.

If you are cooking homemade, cook until all the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce thickens a bit, which takes about 45 minutes total.

Homemade Meatballs or Frozen

Not sure if you should make homemade meatballs or just buy frozen? Honestly, it is up to you!

I have done both, and they are equally good. A lot of times I reach for frozen meatballs to speed up the process. It makes it a no-fuss appetizer that way.

FAQs

Can I replace grape jelly?

You can replace the grape jelly. Simply use canned cranberry sauce, apply jelly, etc. I personally enjoy the cranberry twist if I make without grape jelly.

Do you thaw meatballs before cooking?

No, you toss your frozen meatballs right into the slow cooker. This is what I mean by easy prep. That is what makes these crockpot appetizer meatballs a breeze to make.

Can you double the recipe?

If you have room in your crockpot to add in more meatballs, go for it. You can make as many or as little as you would like. You just need room in your slow cooker.

What brand of jelly to use for crockpot meatballs with grape jelly?

Welch’s or Smuckers are the brands I reach for most often. I tend to buy what is on sale. But you can use any brand of jelly. Just remember, the jelly’s flavor will contribute to the meatballs’ overall flavor.

Can I use Italian meatballs instead of classic ones?

If you have Italian meatballs, you can use them in place of the classic. It will, of course, alter the flavor a bit, but it will taste pretty great.

Storing Meatballs

If you have leftovers, lucky you! Just allow your meatballs to cool a bit then transfer to an airtight container. The slow-cooker meatballs will keep for 3-4 days in the fridge. Eat the leftover meatballs cold or warm them up in the microwave or on the stove top.

You can also freeze the meatballs. Place meatballs in a freezer-safe container or bag and freeze for 2-3 months. Then when you are ready thaw in the fridge overnight, or defrost straight from the freezer. You can also warm up the leftover meatballs on the warm setting on your slow cooker. Or heat on the stovetop at medium-low.

What Are Alabama Heat Crackers?

Alabama Heat Crackers are traditionally made with saltine crackers coated in oil, ranch seasoning, red pepper flakes, and spices, then baked low and slow to lock in flavor. The crackers absorb the seasoning overnight, which is what gives them their signature bold taste and irresistible crunch.

They’re often served at:

  • Holiday parties
  • Tailgates and game day gatherings
  • Snack tables and potlucks
  • As homemade gifts in jars or treat bags

ingredients for jello shots on marble table

Ingredients Needed

Orange Jello – I used a box of orange Jell-O for the base of the Jell-O cups in the black layer.

Gelatin – Unflavored gelatin is going to be used for the white layer of the Jell-O cup.

Vodka – I used vodka for this, butyou can also consider a whipped cream vodka for even more flavor.

Simple Syrup – You can make simple syrup, or you can buy it in the cocktail ingredients section at the grocery store.

Sweetened Condensed Milk – This adds incredible sweetness to the jello shot recipe.

Black Food Coloring This is going to give you the black color to the layer. I love it —it gives it a black-magic jello shot look.

Green Sprinkles – I used round green sprinkles for topping my shots. This is going to give you that Beetlejuice look to the shot.

How to Make

Full directions on how to make these Halloween jello shots is in the printable recipe card below. This is a quick visual walk through on how it is made.

beetlejuice halloween shots collage on how to make

Step One: Place your Jello cups on a lined tray, I used 10 Jello cups.

Step Two: Now you will work on your black Jello. In a pot bring 1 cup of water to a boil.

Step Three: Once the water is boiling remove from heat, and pour in the orange jello. Mix until it is fully dissolved, this takes 2-3 minutes.

Step Four: Next add in the vodka, and 1/2 cup cold water. Stir in the black food dye and whisk to combine.

Step Five: Pour the black jello and pour one quarter of it in each cup. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

Step Six: Work on the white layer of jello once the black jello is set for 30 minutes. Heat up the boiling water, and mix in the unflavored jello. Then stir in the simple syrup, condensed milk, and cold water.

collage of how to make a Halloween jello shot

Step Seven: Add in the vodka and once mixed pour on top of the black layer. Do 1/2 way up the cup.

Step Eight: Refrigerate again for 30 minutes, then add the next layer of black, then another layer of white.

Step Nine: Right before serving, top with the lime green sprinkles and enjoy.

Storage & Make-Ahead Tips

You will want to store your plastic cups with the lids on in the fridge. I do recommend not adding on the sprinkles until right before serving as it will bleed a bit of the color as it sits in the fridge.

You can make these up a day or two before your next party if you want. These jello shots store for 3-4 days in the fridge. The perfect boozy Halloween tasty jello shots recipe.

  • Don’t add sprinkles until just before serving to avoid colour bleed.
  • Make ahead: you can prepare the cups a day or two in advance — just top with sprinkles at event time.
  • Transport tip: place the shot cups in a muffin tin or shallow tray to avoid tipping during travel.

Variations and Tips

  • Flavor swap: Use cherry, grape, lime, or any flavored jello instead of orange — just match your color theme.
  • Glow-in-the-dark version: For a real party wow, use tonic water (quinine glows under black light) in place of cold water for the white layer. Feast + West+1
  • Different colour scheme: Skip black and white, go for purple & green, or candy-corn stripes (orange/yellow/white) for a different Halloween look.
  • Top with fun garnishes: Gummy worms, eyeballs, black sanding sugar, mini bats or spiders to match your party theme.
  • Kid-friendly: Omit the vodka entirely and replace with chilled orange soda or tonic water for a fun, non-alcoholic version.
  • Vegan/gelatin-free adaptation: Use agar-agar instead of gelatin (adjust ratio) for vegetarian/vegan-friendly.

  • 1 small box Orange Jell-O 3.5 oz size
  • 2 Packets Unflavored Gelatin
  • 2 Cups Boiling Water
  • ¾ Cup Cold Water divided
  • 1 Cup Vodka or a flavored Whipped Cream Vodka both work great
  • ¼ Cup Simple Syrup equal parts sugar and water
  • 2 tablespoons Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • ½ Teaspoon Black Gel Food Coloring
  • Green Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Start out by placing your jello shot cups on a baking sheet that is rimmed. This will make moving them around easy.
  • Next add 1 cup of water into a pan and heat until it boils. Then add in the orange jello and remove from the heat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes to help dissolve all the jello.
  • Once the jello is dissolved, add in 1/2 cup vodka, 1/2 cup cold water, and black food dye. Stir well to make sure well mixed.
  • Pour the black jello into the jello cups. Air for about a quarter of the way full. Then place the jello cups in the fridge and let them set up for 30 minutes.
  • Once the black is set up, you will start on the white. Add 1 cup of water into pan and bring to a boil.
  • Remove from heat and add in the unflavored gelatin, and then add in 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk, vodka, and 1/4 cup cold water. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the white mixture on top of the black, a small portion. Then refrigerate 30 minutes.
  • Next, you will repeat another layer of black and white so there are 4 layers total. Then right before serving top with green sprinkles and serve the Halloween jello shots.

Notes

Flavor of Jello – I used orange jello flavor but you can use any flavor of jello you want.
Alcohol – You could swap vodka with rum or even another type of alcohol if you want.

ingredients for Fried Coconut Shrimp sitting on the counter

Ingredients

  1. Shrimp: Succulent seafood, the star of the dish, offers a tender, briny flavor and a delightful, juicy texture when cooked.
  2. Panko: Japanese breadcrumbs add a light, airy crispiness to the shrimp coating, ensuring a satisfying crunch.
  3. Desiccated Coconut (unsweetened): Grated and dried coconut adds a tropical, nutty flavor and a fragrant, crispy coating to the shrimp.
  4. All-Purpose Flour: Used for both coating the shrimp and creating the batter, it helps bind and crisp up the dish.
  5. Oil: Essential for achieving the desired crispy texture, neutral oils like vegetable or canola are ideal choices.
  6. Salt: Enhances the overall flavor profile and seasoning of the dish, balancing sweetness and saltiness.
  7. Baking Powder: Provides a light, airy texture to the batter, contributing to the shrimp’s crispiness when fried.
  8. Pepper: Adds a subtle kick of heat and depth of flavor to the batter.
  9. Paprika: Imparts a mild, smoky sweetness and a hint of color to the shrimp coating.
  10. Egg: Acts as a binding agent in the batter, ensuring it adheres to the shrimp and creates a cohesive coating.
  11. Milk: Adds moisture and richness to the batter, enhancing the texture and flavor of the shrimp.

How To Make Fried Coconut Shrimp

  1. Prepare the Batter: Begin by creating a smooth batter in a mixing bowl. Combine half a cup of flour, an egg, baking powder, milk, salt, and spices. Mix until you achieve a batter that slowly drips from the spoon. Adjust the consistency by adding more flour or milk if necessary.
  2. Coat the Shrimp: Take the shrimp and roll them in the remaining flour to ensure an even coating. You can choose to leave the tail on or remove it completely.
  3. Dip in Batter: Dip each flour-coated shrimp into the prepared batter, ensuring they are fully covered while leaving the tip of the tail clean.
  4. Create the Crispy Coating: Combine panko and coconut in a separate bowl. Roll the shrimp in this mixture until they are thoroughly coated.
  5. Freeze the Shrimp: Lay the coated shrimp on a baking sheet and freeze for about an hour. This step helps set the coating, ensuring a crispy texture when fried.
  6. Heat the Frying Oil: Pour frying oil into a saucepan, filling it to a depth of approximately 3 inches, and heat it to 350°F.
  7. Fry to Perfection: In small batches (roughly 8-10 pieces), carefully transfer the shrimp into the hot oil using a slotted spoon. Fry for approximately 6-7 minutes or until they turn a golden brown. Remember to stir occasionally for even cooking.
  8. Drain and Serve: Drain excess grease.
  9. Indulge in Tropical Bliss: Serve your homemade Fried Coconut Shrimp piping hot, accompanied by your preferred dipping sauce, and experience a burst of flavor!

Dipping Sauces for Coconut Shrimp:

  1. Sweet Chili Sauce: The perfect balance of sweetness and heat, sweet chili sauce is a classic choice for dipping coconut shrimp. Its tangy and spicy notes complement the shrimp’s crunchy exterior.
  2. Mango Salsa: For a fruity twist, pair your coconut shrimp with a refreshing mango salsa. The sweetness of ripe mangoes, combined with the zing of lime and cilantro, adds a burst of tropical flavor.
  3. Honey Mustard: The creamy and slightly tangy goodness of honey mustard is an excellent match for the crispy texture of coconut shrimp. It offers a harmonious blend of flavors.
  4. Cocktail Sauce: A timeless favorite, cocktail sauce provides a tangy and slightly spicy kick that enhances the taste of your fried coconut shrimp. It’s a classic choice for seafood lovers.

FAQs

Can I use frozen shrimp for this recipe?

Yes, it’s fine to use frozen shrimp, but it’s important to thaw the shrimp thoroughly before proceeding with the recipe. Pat them dry to ensure the coating sticks well.

How can I make my coconut shrimp extra crispy?

To achieve maximum crispiness, freeze the coated shrimp for at least an hour before frying. This helps the coating set and become exceptionally crispy during frying.

What oil is best for frying coconut shrimp?

Vegetable oil or canola oil are good choices for frying coconut shrimp. They have a high smoke point and a neutral flavor that won’t overpower the dish.

Can I bake coconut shrimp instead of frying?

While frying provides the classic crispy texture, baking coconut shrimp offers a healthier alternative. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown.

Air-fryer mozzarella Sticks are ooey, gooey party appetizers and snacks made with minimal pantry staple ingredients in less than 30 minutes! These gooey mozzarella sticks are made with string cheese, Panko breadcrumbs, seasonings, and air-fried to perfection. It takes no time to make these air fryer mozzarella sticks from scratch.

Homemade Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks cooked and on a tray with a bowl of marinara sauce in a bowl on side

The seasoned panko coating and fast-frying action of the air fryer give these cheese sticks a crispy outer coating. This offers a healthier way to enjoy your favorite fried foods and snacks. Homemade mozzarella sticks are great for snacking during the game, game day entertaining, or for a party appetizer. Dip in a marinara sauce or even a ranch dressing

Do you love making delicious food and snacks in your air fryer? Try out these air fryer Shake N Bake pork chops, crispy tortellini, and air fryer pigs in a blanket.

Why You’ll Love Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

  • Easy appetizers or party snacks that are excellent served with warm marinara sauce.
  • These mozz sticks take minimal effort or ingredients to make.
  • They have an ooey, gooey cheese center and a crispy outer coating, just like your favorite frozen sticks, which you buy and heat up.
  • This is a healthier option than a deep fried mozzarella stick. Skip deep-frying and try this crispy air fryer mozzarella sticks recipe.
moozzarella sticks being dipped in marinara sauce

Ingredients Needed

  • Mozzarella cheese sticks are the perfect melty cheese that is perfect for this easy appetizer.
  • Cornstarch is needed to help the breading station ingredients to stick to the cheese sticks.
  • Flour is needed, and I recommend using all-purpose flour for coating the tasty snack.
  • Panko or plain breadcrumbs can be used for the best mozzarella sticks. Panko offers a crunchy coating.
  • Eggs are used for making an egg wash, which will help the mixture stick.
  • Nature’s seasoning or Italian seasoning is used to add flavor to the coating.
  • Parsley adds a nice pop of color to the game day snacks.

How to Make

Halve the cheese sticks. Combine the dry ingredients in a small bowl with parsley and panko. Then, beat the eggs in another small bowl.

Coat the cheese sticks in the beaten eggs, followed by the flour mixture. Coat the sticks again in the egg mix and then the panko mixture.

Add the coated cheese sticks to the air fryer basket and lightly spray them with cooking oil.

Cook for 5 minutes at 400F or until the coating is golden brown and fully melted gooey cheese sticks in the center.

Allow the fried Mozzarella sticks to cool before serving for a few moments, and then serve them up.

Tips & Tricks

  • Chilling the mozzarella sticks in the refrigerator can make it easier to slice the sticks in half and preserve the cheese while the assembled snack fries are being prepared.
  • Add freshly fried Mozzarella sticks to a paper towel to absorb excess oil before serving.
  • Enjoy these air fryer mozzarella sticks as is or with your favorite dipping sauces.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket with too many Mozzarella sticks. Otherwise, they won’t get an excellent outer crisp due to a lack of air circulation. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to fry these cheese sticks in batches. A single layer is a must.
  • You want a thick coating of the breadcrumb mixture to protect the cheese, and you end up with crispy mozzarella sticks. Pair with any of your tasty dips.

How Can I Store Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks?

Refrigerate: These Mozzarella sticks can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat them in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes before serving again.

Freezer: You can freeze the mozzarella sticks as well. You can place them in a freezer-friendly container and freeze them for 2-3 months. Then you can reheat them straight from the freezer to the air fryer.

Reheat: Reheat the mozzarella sticks in the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 2-3 minutes. If frozen, fry for 5 minutes or until the mozzarella sticks are warmed through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are These Mozzarella Sticks Gluten-Free?

These mozzarella sticks are not gluten free. You are welcome to swap out the breadcrumbs and the type of flour used to swap to gluten free options.

Do these air fryer mozzarella sticks taste like the frozen cheese sticks?

Yes, they do taste very similar to buying frozen sticks. The best part is you are in control of the ingredients used, and there are fewer processed ingredients used. Just grab your ingredients, spray with cooking spray, and get a nice crispy golden coating.

How do I keep the breading from falling off during air frying?

Making sure you are pressing the coating into the cheese is going to help the mixture to stick. Then, lightly spray it with cooking spray, and you can use that to press it into the cheese stick.

Can I bake mozzarella sticks instead of air frying them?

You can bake the sticks by placing them on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees and cook for 10-12 minutes. You will want to rotate the cheese sticks halfway through the cooking.

This Zesty Fresh Cucumber Salsa Recipe is refreshing, delicious, and quick to make. Each bite contains fresh English cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, ranch dressing, garlic, cilantro, apple cider vinegar, and Rotel tomatoes. This is a tasty cucumber salsa that is great for using up garden cucumbers in the summer months. Dip in chips, use as a taco topper for fish tacos, or eat with a spoonful.

This is a great dish for a healthy snack or dinner. It uses simple, fresh, and full-flavored ingredients. Also, check out my cucumber onion salad, or this Korean cucumber salad. Both are great ways to use up fresh cucumbers.

🍅 Side Dish For Any Occasion

We love to make this homemade salsa recipe because we can’t get enough cucumbers and tomatoes. They are so fresh and the perfect light food to go with our barbecue dinners.

You’ll be able to wow your friends and family when they take their first bite of this incredible salsa. It’s tangy but sweet from the tomatoes.

This recipe is also versatile in terms of the ingredients you use. Add some hot peppers or a jalapeno pepper for extra flavor, spice, and other veggies. This is a great way to create fresh salsa with your favorite ingredients.

Zesty Fresh Cucumber Salad ingredients on table spread out

🥒 Ingredients

The ingredients in this cucumber salsa are so easy. You only need 7 and probably have them already. Let’s take a look:

  • Large Cucumbers
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Fresh Grape or Cherry Tomatoes
  • Rotel Tomatoes With Green Chiles
  • Dry Ranch Dressing Packet
  • Minced Garlic
  • Cilantro
  • Salt & Pepper

🧄 Directions

You can quickly put this homemade salsa by dicing and chopping a few ingredients. Then letting it sit to soak up the flavors. It’s one of the best homemade salsa recipes I have ever made or even tried for that matter. Let’s get started:

First Step: Chop up cucumbers. It’s optional to remove seeds or leave them alone. We leave them in the salsa.

Second Step: Chop tomatoes. Add tomatoes and cucumbers in a bowl. Sprinkle in the apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, ranch dressing, and Rotel tomatoes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Use a wooden spoon to stir.

Third Step: Place the salsa in the fridge for 1-2 hours to let the juices marry together all the way. Serve cold and enjoy!

🥄 Storage

Keep the homemade salsa recipe in a tightly covered container for up to five days. It may last longer than that, but you will need to check it over to make sure it doesn’t smell funny or have any mold. If it’s questionable throw it out.

🥣 Variations

You can make many variations on this cucumber salsa recipe. Here are some ideas we have tried and loved over the years.

  • Red Onion – Chop up some red onions and sprinkle them into the salsa. I like to dice them up pretty small, but they add a gorgeous color.
  • Bell Peppers—Any yellow, red, or green pepper would be fantastic. Slice or dice them and add them to the salsa. It will give you some crunch in every bite.
  • Lemon Juice—Add the juice from half a lemon to give it even more tanginess. It’s so good!
  • Fresh Lime Juice – Juice lime and drizzle it on top, then stir the homemade salsa.
  • Black Bean – You can mix in black beans that are drained and rinsed for added protein.
  • Fresh Herbs—For a great pop of color in this easy cucumber salsa, use fresh parsley or cilantro. It adds some flavor, but you can leave it out.
  • Hot Sauce – Add a splash of hot sauce for a spicy twist.

What dishes pair well with cucumber salsa?

Fish tacos, top grilled chicken, dip with pita chips, tortilla chips, etc. Feel free to devour this salsa any way you would like.

🍽 Can I Make These Pizza Cups in Air Fryer

Go right ahead and reach for your air fryer. If you have an air fryer oven, you can fit a smaller-sized muffin pan in there.

Otherwise, you can use ramekins or silicone muffin cups to place in the air fryer. Cook at 350 degrees for 6-10 minutes, or until the biscuits are fully cooked.

🧀 Expert Tips and Variations

  • Spread out the biscuit to make a thinner crust. If you prefer a thin crust, you can cut the biscuits into 3 to stretch them.
  • Watch your biscuits so they don’t overcook.
  • These muffin pan pizzas are best served warm.
  • These pepperoni cups make a great appetizer or dinner option.
  • Swap bagel seasoning with Italian seasoning if you would like.
  • Sprinkle crushed red peppers on top for a bit of spice or Parmesan cheese.
  • Any brand of refrigerated biscuits works, or try crescent rolls for a lighter, fluffy crust.
  • Mini pepperoni works great if you don’t want large pepperoni.

🍴 Storage

Fridge—These mini pizzas can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. They will soften a bit as they cool down.

Reheat in the microwave or even in the oven.

Freezing – If you like to meal prep and create freezer meals, you can freeze these muffin pizzas. Just allow them to cool and then freeze for 3-4 months.

Then, heat the biscuit dough pizza in the microwave or use the oven to reheat. You can reheat straight from frozen. Or place the frozen pizzas in a lunchbox the night before so they are thawed by morning.

Feel free to double the recipe, make a bunch of mini pizzas from biscuits, and stock that freezer.

Recipe FAQs

How to know pizza cupcakes are done?

You will know when the cupcakes are done by the biscuit dough being golden brown in color. Stick a toothpick to ensure it is not a wet dough batter.

Is biscuit dough the same as pizza dough?

Biscuit dough is not the same as classic pizza dough. Although they can be interchanged, your crust will taste like a biscuit and have a lighter texture.

Do cans of biscuits go bad?

Cans of biscuits expire just like any other food. Make sure to read the expiration date before you open and use them for pizzas.

I am a sucker for hush puppies! Consider trying these air fryer hush puppies for a great side dish or snack! These hush puppies are made with yellow corn meal, flour, and various spices and air-fried to golden crispy perfection. Skip the deep fryer and make these homemade hush puppies for a side dish or appetizer. A southern classic you can make at home.

Cornmeal-based bites are a magical treat. I loved eating them at Long John Silvers paired with their crispy chicken and coleslaw! It is easy to make these hush puppy balls for bite-size comfort food. They go great with a fish fry and are freezer-friendly if you want to stock up the freezer for a tasty snack later on.

What are hush puppies?

Hush puppies were first made by Southern cooks who would fry leftover bits of cornmeal batter to feed to their dogs to keep them quiet during hunting trips or other occasions when they needed to remain silent. The cooks eventually began to eat the fried bits and found them to be a delicious and satisfying snack or side dish. Over time, the dish became known as “hush puppies” in honor of its original use as a dog silencer.

These Air Fryer Hush Puppies Are…

  • Quick and Easy
  • Made from Scratch
  • Easy Snack or Appetizer
  • Crispy and Crunchy Outside Tender Centers

Ingredients Needed

Here is all you need for these hush puppies.

  • Cornmeal – Yellow cornmeal.
  • Flour – All-purpose flour.
  • Baking Powder
  • Seasonings – Garlic salt, Cayenne pepper, garlic powder, minced onion
  • Corn – Cream-style corn in a can.
  • Milk
  • Egg – large.
  • Oil

How to Make

Full steps to make these air fried hush puppies are in the printable recipe card. This is a quick walk-through.

Variations to Recipe

  • Add cheese: Try adding shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese to the hush puppy batter for a savory twist.
  • Spices: Add some spices like cumin, chili powder, or smoked paprika to the batter to give them a kick of flavor.
  • Herbs: To give the batter a fresh and fragrant flavor, add chopped fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, or thyme.
  • Onion: Add finely chopped green onion or scallions to the batter for a savory and slightly sweet flavor.
  • Jalapeno Peppers: Add diced or hot peppers to the batter for a spicy kick.
  • Corn: Add fresh or canned corn kernels to the batter for a sweet and crunchy texture.
  • Bacon: Add crumbled bacon or bacon bits to the batter for a smoky and savory flavor.
  • Sweet: Add some sugar or honey to the batter for a sweet twist.
  • Gluten-Free: Use a gluten-free flour blend to replace all-purpose flour. You will still get those cozy hush puppies.

Expert Tips For Success

Preheat the air fryer: Preheat the air fryer for 3-5 minutes before adding the hush puppies. This will help them cook evenly and crisp up nicely.

Evenly Sized: You want to make sure you make evenly sized balls. Use a cookie scoop or other measuring tool to ensure all the cornmeals are the same size.

Use cooking spray: To prevent the hush puppies from sticking, coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray before adding them.

Don’t overcrowd: Leave some space between the balls in the air fryer basket so that they cook evenly and get crispy on all sides. Make sure they are in a single layer.

Flip halfway through: Flip the hush puppies halfway through the cooking time to ensure they cook evenly on both sides.

Check frequently: Watch the hush puppies while they’re cooking in the air fryer to prevent them from burning.

Enjoy hot: Serve the hush puppies hot and crispy, ideally with some dipping sauce like honey mustard or ranch dressing.

Storing Leftovers

Refrigerate—If you have leftover hush puppies, place them in an airtight container. You can also place them in a sealed bag.

Freezer—You can freeze any hush puppies. Just allow them to cool and then place them in a freezer container. Then, when you want to eat, thaw in the fridge overnight and then reheat in the microwave, air fryer, or oven. You can also reheat straight from being frozen if you want.

FAQs

Do I need to preheat the air fryer before cooking hush puppies?

It’s a good idea to preheat the air fryer for 3-5 minutes before adding the hush puppies. This will help them cook evenly and crisp up nicely.

How long should I cook hush puppies in the air fryer?

Cooking times may vary depending on the size of the hush puppies and the specific model of the air fryer. Generally, hush puppies will take about 8-10 minutes in the air fryer, but it’s a good idea to check them frequently to prevent burning.

How do I know when the hush puppies are done?

Use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature of the hush puppies. They should reach at least 165°F to ensure that they are fully cooked.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of yellow corn meal
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of minced onion
  • 1 can of cream style corn
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Spray oil

Instructions

  • To make the hush puppies, start by mixing the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, garlic salt, and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl until well blended. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, then stir in the minced onion and cream-style corn. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix together.
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and place about a cup of cornmeal in a shallow bowl. Roll the hush puppies into small balls, then roll them in the cornmeal and place them on the parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  • Place the hush puppies in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the hush puppies from the freezer and place them in the air fryer basket. Spray the hush puppies with oil spray and set the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and the time to 10 minutes.
  • Check the hush puppies halfway through cooking, turn them over, and spray them again with oil spray. Finish cooking the hush puppies until golden brown on the outside and cooked through in the middle. If necessary, add 3 minutes and cook again until they are completely done in the center.
  • Once the hush puppies are done, sprinkle them with finely minced parsley and serve with ketchup. Enjoy!

Notes

Flour – All purpose flour is what I used. Make sure to scoop into measuring cup and level off.
Cornmeal – I used yellow cornmeal for this recipe.
Add in Items – Consider dicing up a jalapeno pepper, shredded cheese, etc.
Done – The hush puppies are done when the hush puppies are golden on the outside and done in the center, and not dough-y.
Golden Crispy Texture – Use cooking spray to spray on the balls to help create a crispy outside.

This dish features bright colors and bold flavors. No special equipment is needed for this recipe, making it a no-brainer. For more must-make recipes, check out my garden salsawatermelon salsa, and mango salsa!!! Don’t sleep on these.

What is Pico De Gallo?

Pico de Gallo is also called a salsa cruda or salsa fresca. Chopped veggies tossed with lime, salt, and pepper for a vibrant flavor. You can top tacos and burritos, eat them as a dip, or even top grilled meats.

Bright flavors, crunchy, savory, and you can control the heat factor of the pico de Gallo.

  • Healthy ingredients that are used and packed with nutrients.

  • Authentic pico de Gallo that is perfect for a weeknight or to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! Pair with your favorite Mexican food or use it as a type of salsa for dipping tortilla chips in.

  • This recipe comes together in literally minutes. It is such a quick one to throw together.
ingredients to make pico de gallo on table - jalapeno, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice

Ingredients Needed

Tomatoes: Choose ripe and fresh tomatoes. You can use any variety, but Roma tomatoes are often used because they have fewer seeds.

Onion: Yellow, red, or white onions can be used. I opted to use yellow. You want raw onions for that bite factor.

Jalapeno Pepper: If you are not huge on spice, remove the pepper’s white membrane and seeds. If you prefer heat, leave some seeds for added spice.

Cilantro: Reach for fresh cilantro that you chop up fine. This is optional, but it adds more flavor to the salsa fresca.

Lime Juice: Fresh lime juice helps balance all the ingredients and bring them together for a delicious mix.

Salt and Pepper: Flavor to taste; the salt will help enhance all the vegetable’s natural flavors.

How to Make

The complete steps for making pico de gallo are on the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post. This is a quick walk-through.

The first step is to wash and pat dry the vegetables. Then, you dice the fresh tomatoes, yellow onion, and jalapeno pepper.

Add all the fresh ingredients to a large bowl.

Squeeze the lime and pour the fresh lime juice all over the vegetables. Toss with a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Then serve with chips, a Mexican dish, etc.

Variations

Onions: Any chopped onions work for this easy recipe. Red onion adds more heat, as does white onion. Yellow onions are sweet onions, so it won’t be as spicy if you opt for that route. Choose the best flavor for your preference.

Pepper: You can use a bell pepper if you want a very tame flavor. Or opt for a serrano pepper for a nice kick of heat. You will finely chop the pepper. Or even go for chili peppers for a kick of heat.

Black Beans: Rinse and drain a can of black beans to enhance the flavors tremendously.

Garlic: Mix fresh garlic in the fresh pico de Gallo.

What to Serve With Pico De Gallo?

You can easily use it as a delicious chunky salsa with crunchy chips. Or you can take it a step further and top your morning avocado toast, breakfast burritos, tacos, burrito bowls, enchiladas, or any other favorite Mexican recipes. Fish tacos would be another great one for fresh flavor in each bite.

This chunky pico de gallo is a great appetizer for a game day event or a topper for dinner at home.

Tips For Making

  • The size of the vegetables that you chop will alter the flavor. For example, leaving the vegetables a bit larger makes a delicious salsa for dipping. Where chopping finer offers the best results for topping your Mexican cuisine recipes.
  • Allowing the mixture to sit in the fridge for a few hours overnight before serving offers more flavor. It allows the flavors to meld together. The next day provides excellent flavor, allowing simple ingredients to blend.
  • After you clean the jalapenos, you can soak them in cold water with ice to help tame the spice even more.
  • Stir the mixture before serving it to ensure all the flavors are mixed well.

Storing Leftovers

This recipe is great for storing in the fridge in a sealed, airtight container for 2-3 days. Use a little bit on meals and keep the rest in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat. Serve chilled. Due to the ingredients, this is not a freezer-friendly recipe.

FAQs

Is Pico de Gallo spicy?

You get to control the level of spice. Leaving seeds in the jalapeno peppers is going to make it spicy. Cleaning the peppers will be mild to medium heat.

Can I customize the ingredients in Pico de Gallo?

You can make this pico any way you want. Adjust the ingredients, add spices, and swap in mango, avocado, garlic, and more to transform it into your favorite meal.

Is Pico de Gallo the same as salsa?

Traditional salsa is often made in a food processor, and the mixture is blended into smaller pieces, tender veggies, and a watery consistency. Good pico de gallo has more significant chunks of veggies and minimal liquid.

Try my latest Blackstone Brats recipe as well for a tasty grill recipe. A new version of your favorite cheese dip you can make on a Traeger pellet grill, Big Green Egg, or any other smoker or smoke box style grill.

A fun party food, game day appetizer, and more. I love how easy this party dip recipe comes together. It is loaded with cheesy goodness. This is a great appetizer for your next party or even coming up. This is the perfect dip for any occasion. There are different ways to serve it up that is a low-maintenance recipe.

Why You Will Love This Smoked Queso Dip…

  • Easy ingredients you might already have on hand.
  • Cheesy goodness is a dippable recipe that is bursting with rich flavors.
  • Quick to assemble and get on the smoker.
  • Smoking the cheese dip is going to enhance all the flavors and create layers of flavor.
  • Great for cooking on Traeger, Green Mountain, Gas grill, etc.
  • Party-friendly for a game day entertaining or summer cookout.
  • Tailgate or Campfire Queso Recipe that is great for serving a crowd.

Queso Ingredients

Here are the Traeger queso ingredients I used. But, know you can change up the ingredients of this loaded queso dip a bit.

grilled queso
  • Velveeta – This is going to help add a ton of cheesy texture to the dish. Plus Velveeta is rich, so it adds a lot of flavor.
  • Pepper Jack Cheese – This adds a kick of flavor to your dip. If you are not a fan of spice, swap with a Monterey Jack instead.
  • Ground Beef Breakfast Sausage or Chorizo – The meat is your choice. I used ground beef for this recipe.
  • Rotel – Canned tomatoes with green chiles are what Rotel tomatoes are. If you can’t find it just do 1 can of diced tomatoes and 1 can of green chili’s leave the juice.
  • Pickled Jalapenos – Spice and tang are what come from canned peppers. Now, if you really want it to be spicy add fresh and leave the seeds.
  • Minced Garlic – Jarred or fresh minced garlic works. It adds a nice flavor to the dip.
  • Diced Onion – White or yellow onion is recommended for this.

How to Make

Full directions on how to make smoked queso are in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. This is a quick walk-through on how it is made.

traeger cheese dip recipe
  1. Add all your ingredients to your pan. I used an aluminum throw-away 9×13 pan. You can use whatever you would like.
  2. Preheat the grill (I used my Green Mountain Grill) to 200-250 degrees, then place your queso dip mixture on and let it cook for 2 hours, stirring here and there.
  3. Once done, serve with your favorite dippers.

Stir the easy-smoked queso dip to ensure the smokey flavor is incorporated through the whole dip. This is a perfect dip for a backyard party or game-day dip. We used tortilla chips and pork rinds to transform this into the ultimate party dip for kids and adults to enjoy.

Expert Tips and Variations

Meat – You can use Chorizo, sausage, beef, or any meat you want. Or if you want a meatless cheese dip, go right ahead.

Cheese – I used Velveeta and Pepperjack. I recommend the Velveeta cheese but the other you can use a Monterey Jack cheese, sharp, etc. Just buy a block of cheese and dice it up.

Jalapeno – I used jarred pickled jalapenos. You can skip this but I find it adds tons of flavor. If you want more heat use fresh jalapeno to toss in.

Stir The Dip – Make sure to stir the dip, otherwise, you will find it cooks unevenly. Smoking the dip low and slow helps allow some of that smoky flavor to get into the dip.

pork rind with cheese dip

Variations To Recipe and Tips

Here are different variations to this pellet smoker queso recipe. The smoke flavor really ramps up the addiction to this dip.

  • Change up the type of wood chips used, hickory wood, apple, etc. these will alter the flavor a bit.
  • Change up the type of cheese used. I did a mix but you are welcome to play around with the types of cheese used. Colby jack, sharp cheddar, etc.
  • Chorizo sausage or pork sausage is a great change in the protein used. Or leave out ground meats if you want a meatless dip.
  • Slice up cheese and skip the pre-shredded cheese. It will make the dip extra greasy to use any kind of cheese that are pre-shredded.
  • Cook in a cast iron skillet instead of a disposable aluminum pan.
  • Add the seeds of a jalapeno to make this hot cheese dip spicy. It will add great flavor.
  • Stir in some pico de gallo to add more of a fresh flavor to the dip.
  • Swap meat with cooked-up chicken and add a packet of taco seasoning for a chicken taco dip.

What To Dip Rotel Cheese Dip In

Not sure what to serve with this smoked cheese dip? Here are a few ideas for this queso dip on the grill!

  • Pork Rinds
  • Tortilla Chips
  • Fresh Veggies – I love snap peas and carrot sticks
  • Bread
  • Etc

Storing

You can store your cheese dip for up to three days in the refrigerator. Just reheat in the microwave.

Or if you do a skillet on the stove or in the oven, add a little milk. This will help thin up the sauce.

Due to the dairy used, this queso dip does not freeze well.

ingredients with fresh herbs and dried herbs in oil in glass bowls

Ingredients

Oil – Extra virgin olive oil is what I recommend using for this oil recipe.

Garlic – Fresh minced garlic is going to offer a rich flavor to the toi. You can grab garlic cloves and freshly mince or you can buy a jar.

Dried Herbs – Basil and oregano are the two herbs I used, that offer that vibrant Italian seasoning flavor.

Red Peppers – Crushed red pepper flakes are going to add a kick of spice which is a great addition to the oil.

Salt – Tossing in a pinch of salt is going to help bring out all the flavors of the oil.

How to Make

  1. In a large mixing bowl add olive oil, garlic, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, and salt.
  2. Mix well to combine.
  3. Use right away, or store in the fridge until you are ready to serve it up.

Variations To Recipe

  • Fresh herbs can be used in replace of dried for a twist of flavor.
  • Finely chop sundried tomatoes and add into the oil mixture for a richer flavor.
  • Sprinkle with toasted pine nuts, almonds, or even walnuts for a nice crunch.
  • Mix in some parmesan cheese or pecorino cheese for a tangy version.
  • Chop up some olives and mix in. You can use green olives or Kalamata.
  • Add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the oil mixture.
  • Flaky sea salt will add more flavor than table salt.
  • Whisk in honey with a sweet flavor to the savory.

Dippers For This Dip

Reach for your favorite Artisan bread, French baguette, sourdough bread, artichoke hearts, fresh focaccia bread, or even more dippers of choice. You will find that this herb-infused oil is a must-try. You can even use this as a light salad dressing to a green salad. This is a good olive oil dip that can be used for many options.

Expert Tips

  • Quality ingredients are recommended. I find the better quality ingredients the more vibrant dip.
  • You can balance the oil with a splash of lemon juice and salt if you want to have a more well-rounded flavor to your dip.
  • Have fun and try out different flavors by adding different herbs and spices to the bread oil dip.
  • Stir in some lemon zest for a citrus zing to the dip and it will help brighten up the flavor.
  • Raw garlic offers the best flavor. You are welcome to use sautéed garlic for a perfect balance of flavors to the herb bread dip.
  • Do not use vegetable oil for this dip.

Storing

Refrigerate the oil for up to two weeks in the fridge. I like to place the dip in an airtight container to help preserve the flavors of the dip. Some do keep the dip at room temperature in a pantry for around 1-2 weeks as well.

I prefer to keep it in the fridge as I find it has the best results. If you store at room temperature place in a mason jar with a sealed lid.

FAQs

Can I customize the olive oil bread dip to my taste?

Of course. You can use different herbs, spices, and more. Feel free to play around with the ingredients to alter the olive oil herb dip.

Can I serve olive oil bread dip with anything other than bread?

You can use this dip for so many things besides bread. Crackers, veggies, use on grilled meats, and the list goes on. The good news is you have endless options to take this dip to the next level.

Can I make olive oil bread dip in advance for a party or gathering?

The olive oil dip can be served up to a crowd easily. I prefer to make this a few hours until I am ready to serve it up to allow the flavors of the herbs to infuse with each other.

7 Up biscuits are fluffy biscuits that are made with Bisquick, sour cream, lemon-lime soda, and a stick of butter. These melt-in-your-mouth tender biscuits are a hit.  I used 7 Up but you are welcome to use Sprite or another type of lemon lime soda. These easy 7-up biscuits are a great side dish or spoon sausage gravy over the top of these flaky biscuits.

You might also know these biscuits as angel biscuits, swim biscuits or butter swim biscuits. They are square biscuits that are baked in a pan of melted butter. The lemon lime soda is the secret ingredient to give the ultimate fluffy biscuit texture.

For a sweet twist, you will want to try these blackberry biscuits. Or you can try these garlic parmesan biscuits for a savory biscuit recipe.

What Are 7 Up Biscuits?

7 Up biscuits are delicious and savory Bisquick biscuits that are mixed and poured into a prepared baking dish. There is no cookie cutter for this biscuit mix. Simply slice with a knife and serve up these buttery biscuits that are made with simple ingredients.

Reasons Why You Will Love These Biscuits

  • Easy biscuit dough that you can whip up in a matter of minutes and get them tossed in the oven to bake up.
  • Homemade biscuits that kids and adults will both enjoy.
  • Easy biscuits that require no rolling out dough and using a cookie cutter.
  • These are some of the easiest biscuits you will ever make.
  • Fluffy texture that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients Needed

Lemon Lime Soda – Sprite, 7-Up, or even a ginger ale all work great for the soda for the recipe. The carbonation is going to really create a fluffy texture to the biscuit dough.

Butter – Salted butter is used! Make sure that it is real butter and not margarine.

Bisquick – Bisquick mix is the flour mixture used for making the biscuit dough. If you do not have Bisquick on hand learn how to make homemade Bisquick.

Sour Cream – Sour cream is going to ensure the biscuits are moist but also they add tons of flavor to the biscuit dough.

How to Make

  1. Preheat the oven as directed and prep your baking dish.
  2. Next in a large mixing bowl add your Bisquick and sour cream. Mix to create a crumble.
  3. Then add the lemon-lime soda and mix the dough. It will be sticky.
  4. Next, melt butter in the microwave. Add a bit of butter to the bottom of the pan with 1/3 cup of butter.
  5. Spoon the batter on top of the butter and spread it out to all edges of the pan.
  6. Use a knife and cut the biscuit dough into 12 square biscuits. Drizzle with the rest of the butter.
  7. Bake as directed until the golden brown color.
Sprite biscuits are stacked on a plate

Variations to Recipe

  • Shortening can be used in replace of butter. But the butter offers a better texture in my opinion.
  • Plain Greek yogurt can be used in a swap of sour cream.
  • Add a touch of honey or sugar to the batter for a sweet flavor. 2 tablespoons of sugar or 2-3 tablespoons of honey will work great.
  • Melt butter and add some minced garlic to create garlic butter biscuits.
  • Dice up jalapenos finely and mix in the dough for a spicy biscuit. Place on the dinner table as a side dish.
  • Add a little shredded chicken and then pair the biscuits with chicken pot pie soup.

Tips For Success

Don’t overmix the dough or it can make the biscuit dough heavy and dense.

Ensure you place the biscuits in a preheated oven that has been preheated for at least 5-10 minutes.

Make sure the carbonated beverage has not become stale. Otherwise, it will not create that light and fluffy texture.

The biscuits are done when you stick a toothpick in the tops of the biscuits and it comes out clean of wet batter.

Storing

I recommend refrigerating the biscuits in an airtight container. They will store for 3-4 days in the fridge. I find the flavor of the biscuits tastes best when refrigerated. You can warm it up in the microwave or the oven.

Also, you could freeze biscuits. Simply place your biscuits in a freezer container or freezer bag. The biscuits will freeze for 2-3 months.

FAQs

How do I prevent my 7UP biscuits from being tough?

If you overmix the dough it will truly create a tough biscuit. Mix to combine but don’t overmix the batter.

Can I make 7UP biscuits ahead of time?

Yes, you can bake a day ahead of time and then store it in the fridge. Place biscuits in a sealed container. Then wrap in foil and place in a baking pan to heat up in the oven. Or warm up the biscuits in the microwave.

Can I use Diet 7UP for the biscuits?

Reach for Diet 7Up if you want to reduce sugar content. It will alter the texture of the biscuits slightly.

  • 4 cups Bisquick or store brand version
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup Sprite or 7-Up
  • 1 stick butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Grease the baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside.
  • In a large bowl you will add the sour cream and Bisquick. Mix to combine.
  • Then slowly work in the lemon lime soda, creating a dough.
  • Melt the butter in the microwave. Then pour 1/3 cup of butter to the bottom of the pan.
  • Scoop the biscuit dough over the buttered pan, and spread the batter to all sides of the baking dish.
  • Use a knife and slice the biscuit dough into 12 squares.
  • Then drizzle with butter.
  • Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown on top or until it is baked through.

Notes

Greek Yogurt – You can use a Greek yogurt that is plain in flavor in swap of sour cream.
Shortening – Swap the butter with shortening if you want. I find the butter is going to give more flavor to the biscuits.
Dough – If you find your dough is too wet you can add a bit more Bisquick to the dough.

Learn how to make air fryer Chex mix a delicious and crunchy snack mix that is bursting with savory flavors in each bite. This is a twist to the oven-baked Chex mix you might know and love from when you are a child. Chex cereal, Cheerios, pretzels, peanuts, oyster crackers, and a blend of spices and herbs.

This is a Chex party mix that is a savory snack for the holiday season when you serve a crowd, whip up for a game day snacking, or have movie nights at home. This cereal mixture is so easy to throw together and cook up in your air fryer basket.

Consider trying this easy spicy Chex mix for another snack mix option. This is a spicy-flavored mixture. Or for a sweet take consider this white chocolate Chex mix!

Reasons Why You Will Love This Air Fryer Chex Mix

  • A great homemade Chex mix for family game night, serving a crowd, or snacking on through the week.
  • A delicious snack that takes minimal ingredients to make. Plus this is a classic snack recipe that has been around for ages.
  • Pick and choose what you want to add to the Chex mixture to customize your snack mix.
  • Change the flavors to the recipe to create different flavors for this perfect party snack mix.
  • Works in a Ninja Foodi, Air Fryer Oven, Air Fryer Basket, and more.
  • Cooks in much less time than a slow cooker version or oven-baked version, depending on the size of your air fryer.

Ingredients Needed

Here is a quick peek at what is needed for this easy snack mix. This was such a popular late 1980’s snack mix that was often made in the oven or in a slow cooker. This is still a mix that families all around the world enjoy!

  • Chex Cereal – Corn Chex or Rice Chex are both great for this. You could even use wheat Chex if you prefer a little bit more crunch.
  • Cheerios – I reached for plain cereal with no flavoring on it.
  • Pretzels – We used mini pretzels and pretzel sticks for a mix of textures.
  • Peanuts – Add some crunch by reaching for some roasted and unsalted peanuts. The small pieces add tons of crunch.
  • Oyster Crackers – These bite-size crackers will cook up to a golden brown and crunchy texture.
  • Seasonings – Paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper.
  • Butter – Salted butter or unsalted butter both work for this recipe.

How to Make

Full steps are featured below. This is a quick walkthrough on how to make the recipe.

  1. Add your crackers, cereals, and peanuts to a bowl. Then toss to coat.
  2. Next, you will grab a small saucepan and add the butter and all the spices. Bring to a boil stirring often.
  3. Then once it is boiling, remove it from the stovetop and let it cool for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture over the cereal, and toss to coat.
  5. Add mixture to the air fryer basket and cook for 4 minutes. Shake the basket, and cook another 4 minutes.
  6. Shake again and then cook for another 3-4 or until golden brown.
  7. Remove and let cool.

Other Mix-In Ingredients

Pick and choose any or all of these items for a great addition to flavor. Add in some sweet for sweet and salty flavors to this recipe if you want.

  • Cheese crackers – Cheez-Its, Gold Fish crackers, Etc.
  • Gluten-Free Pretzels
  • Bagel Chips
  • Rye Chips
  • Mixed Nuts
  • Spicy Nuts or Wasabi Nuts
  • Pumpkin Seeds or Sunflower Seeds
  • Whole Grain Triscuits or Wheat Thins
  • Sesame Sticks
  • Dried Fruit
  • Coconut Flakes
  • Candies – Mix in once-cooled M&Ms, peanut butter cups, etc.
  • Etc.

Tips for Success

Batch Cook

Make sure to batch-cook the mixture. Depending on how large or small the air fryer you will want to cook it in batches that way it evenly coats. The air fryer heats by hot air circulating so if it is too stacked it won’t cook evenly.

Coat Well

It is important to ensure that the butter mixture combines fully with the rest of the ingredients when you toss it together. That is the seasoning mixture and you want it to be spread around on all the pieces.

Shake/Stir Mixture

Make sure you shake or stir the mixture as directed in the recipe card. It is important to do this so all areas get nice and crisp, and the melted butter soaks in and cooks up on the mixture.

Cooling Before Storing

After the cooking time and your mixture is done spread it out on a baking sheet or even a pan. This is going to allow an even cooling on the tasty snack. You need the mixture to fully cool or it will create condensation if you place it in a container while it is still warm.

Air Fryer Ranch Chex Mix

Instead of using the spices in the recipe swap with powdered ranch mix and evenly coat and air fry till the butter soaks in.

Air Fryer Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix

Here is a popular snack for fall. Use butter and then pumpkin pie spice to flavor the mixture for a sweet Chex mix. Toss in some white chocolate chips once cooled for added sweetness.

chex mix in a bowl with jars of the items mixed in it behind it

Storing

You can store your Chex mix at room temperature for 1-2 weeks. Make sure to store in an airtight container or sealed bag with as much air removed as you can.

If you live in a high-humidity area, just know it can cause the mixture to become stale quicker.

FAQs

Can I make Chex Mix in the oven instead of an air fryer?

Go right ahead and make traditional Chex mix in the oven if you want. Follow the same instructions except bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit and stir every 15 minutes. You want the snack mix to dry out and turn golden brown.

Can I make a gluten-free Chex Mix?

Reach for all the ingredients that are gluten-free and any mix-in ingredients you would like. Just ensure all the packages of the ingredients show gluten-free.

How can I adjust the spiciness level of my Chex Mix?

If you want it spicier add some hot sauce, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, or other spicy ingredients to the recipe. Just mix it in a small bowl with the butter if you add hot sauce then stir in and cook the same.

Can I freeze homemade Chex Mix?

It is recommended to not freeze snack mixes like this as it will soften the ingredients and you won’t get that crunch.

Can I re-crisp stale Chex Mix?

Simply place it back in the air fryer or on a baking sheet spread out. Place in air fryer at 325 or oven at 275 and cook for 5 minutes, and stir between each heat cycle. Heat until the mixture regains that crunchy texture you are looking for. Then let cool before serving and storing in the air-tight container again.

How to Pick Ripe Mangos

Need some pointers before you head to the grocery store? Here are some tips for picking ripe juicy mangos that will give this salsa the best flavor. Head to the produce section and find the perfect mango every single time. There are a variety of mango variations, but these are general steps to look for the best produce.

Color – Make sure your mangos are vibrant in color. Now depending on the variety the color can vary a bit. But you want a nice deep color for your mangos.

Smell – Grab your fresh mangos and sniff them near the stem end. Ripe mangos will offer a sweet aroma where you can smell the fruit. If it smells sour or foul, that means it is possibly spoiled.

Firmness – Make sure to lightly squeeze the mango in your hands. You want it to have a slight give when you squeeze but still a bit firm. If it is really mushy or soft, that means it is overripe or spoiled.

Blemishes – One thing to look for is wrinkling of the skin or bruises or blemishes. This is a sign that the fruit within could be spoiling. Smooth skin on your fruit is a must.

Ingredients Needed

  • Mangos
  • Cilantro
  • Lime Juice
  • Red Onions
  • Jalapeno

Have you had Texas Twinkies? If not, you are in for a treat. This is a jalapeno that is stuffed with cream cheese, smoked brisket, and wrapped in bacon. Toss these stuffed brisket jalapenos on the grill or even toss them in the oven for a mouth-watering appetizer.

Now I love a jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese wrapped in bacon, but this brisket-loaded pepper takes the cake. You will also find that pairing it with my Longhorn steak seasoning for whipping up a restaurant-quality steak.

Texas twinkies on a cutting ooard

For stuffing this recipe I used my brisket recipe that I used for smoking on the Traeger grill. These will elevate any bbq to a whole new level.

What Are Texas Twinkies?

Texas Twinkies are a popular smoked appetizer that came from Texas. They are a jalapeno that is cored out and filled with cream cheese, smoked brisket, and then wrapped in bacon.

Toss on the grill or smoker and create a melt-in-your-mouth appetizer. While there are different ways to make these stuffed peppers you will find this recipe is a game changer.

Why This Recipe Is Popular

  • Toss on the grill, smoker, or bake in the oven.
  • An appetizer to serve up your family or a crowd.
  • Versatile in what you stuff the peppers with.
  • You can make these peppers spicy by leaving some seeds in or you can create a mild flavor.
  • Stuffed and wrapped to perfection.

Ingredients

Brisket – This is the meat of choice I used. You are welcome to use pulled pork, cooked sausage, beef, etc. Any cooked meat will work for stuffing.

Jalapenos – Reach for medium to large-sized peppers for this recipe. This is best so you have room to stuff.

Cream Cheese – Softened cream cheese is needed to create the creamy filling.

Bacon – Reach for any type of bacon you want. I love applewood bacon but it is whatever you prefer.

How to Make Texas Twinkies

Full steps are featured at the bottom of the post. This is a visual walkthrough on how to make them.

jalapeno in collage being cored out, and then stuffed with cream cheese.
  1. Wash and prep your jalapenos. You will core out the white membrane and remove the seeds. Rinse in cold water to remove excess oil.
  2. Use softened cream cheese and spread it in the center of each of the peppers.

Expert Tip: If you are not used to working with raw jalapeno peppers, then wear gloves. The oil can hurt your hands if you have sensitive skin.

  1. Stuff with some pulled brisket.
  2. Then place the pepper together and wrap with bacon.
  3. Secure the peppers with toothpicks.
Texas Twinkie peppers sliced in half and placed on a plate
  1. Toss peppers on the grill and cook until the bacon is fully cooked on all sides.
  2. Remove and let cool for a few minutes then serve and enjoy.

Top Tips For Success

  • Soaking jalapenos once they are cored and seeded in a lemon-lime soda can help remove the spice of peppers. You can soak for 30 minutes up to an hour.
  • Make sure to not overfill the peppers, as they can seep out once it is being cooked.
  • Secure the bacon with toothpicks to ensure the bacon doesn’t fall off and the filling doesn’t seep out.
  • You need to make sure the bacon is fully cooked before you remove it from the grill.
  • If you bake these stuffed peppers in the oven, make sure you rotate the peppers as they cook to evenly cook the bacon.

Variations to Recipe

  • Use sweet mini peppers instead of jalapenos.
  • Change out the meat to pulled pork, chorizo, cooked sausage, etc.
  • Add in some shredded cheese. Sharp cheddar, pepper jack, etc.
  • Drizzle with your favorite bbq sauce once done.
  • Season the cream cheese if you want with your favorite spices.

Storing

Refrigerate any of the peppers you do not eat right away. Just place them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge. They will last 3-4 days. You can eat them cold or warm them up.

Freeze Texas Twinkies for up to 2-3 months. Place in the proper container and then freeze until you are ready to eat. Thaw in the fridge overnight, then reheat as you wish. Or warm them up straight from being frozen.

FAQs

Can Texas Twinkies be baked instead of grilled or smoked?

You can bake these stuffed peppers on a rimmed baking sheet at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the bacon is fully cooked. When the bacon is crispy and fully cooked, serve them up. Depending on the thickness of the bacon depends on the cooking time.

What can I serve with Texas Twinkies?

Grilled meat, summer side dishes, cornbread, and more are all great options. You can honestly serve these stuffed peppers with anything you would like.

Notes

Peppers – The bigger the better when it comes to stuffing Jalapenos.
Spice – If you want peppers to have some spice then leave some seeds in the peppers. To make it mild remove the seeds and membrane.
Meat – If you don’t want to use brisket swap with any cooked meat. Pulled pork, chicken, sausage, etc.
Cheese – Feel free to add shredded cheese to elevate the flavor.
Cook Time: No matter the method of cooking know that the cook time will vary depending on the size of your peppers and the thickness of bacon.

Tips and Variations to Recipe

  • Any type of meat works for this recipe.
  • Feel free to swap out the variety of cheese used. Or dress it up more and add two types of cheese to the sandwiches.
  • Add a splash of hot sauce to the butter mixture to add some heat to the sliders.
  • You need to baste with butter otherwise, it will dry out the buns.
  • Once done you can top sliders with sliced lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.
  • Top with everything but the bagel seasoning instead of the garlic powder.
  • You can bake in the oven at 325 degrees for 5-8 minutes. Place the sliders in a 9×13 casserole dish.
  • You can buy parchment paper that is meant for the air fryer. They have papers sized for baskets and oven-sized air fryers.

Storing

  • Refrigerate – Any leftovers can be stored in the fridge in a sealed container. The sandwiches will last for 2-3 days.
  • Freezing – You can also freeze for 3-4 months in a freezer bag or freezer container. Thaw in the fridge overnight for a slow thaw. Or defrost and reheat as you wish.

FAQs

How many sliders can I make in the air fryer at once?

Depending on the size of your air fryer will depend on how many sliders you can make at once. Typically 4-6 sliders are what fits in a basket-style air fryer. Or if you have an air fryer oven you will get more in them.

Why do you leave space between each slider?

When you air fryer the heat circulates around the food. So ensuring you have space between each slider creates an even cook on all parts of your slider sandwiches.

  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 package dinner rolls
  • 1 pounds thinly sliced deli turkey
  • 12 slices cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 300 degrees. Then you will line air fryer basket with parchment paper or line a baking pan that fits in the air fryer oven.
  • In a small bowl add your melted butter, garlic, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  • Slice the buns in half and remove the top portion of the buns and place to the side.
  • Now you will add layers of turkey and cheese onto the bottom layer of the slider buns.

Meat – You can use any type of meat you would like. Or use multiple types of meat to create your layers of flavor.
Cheese – Any type of cheese you would like will work for this recipe.

Fresh spring rolls are packed with crisp fresh veggies, and juicy shrimp and are ready to be dipped into a homemade peanut sauce. These shrimp spring rolls are light and refreshing. A delicious and easy summer rolls recipe, that you can find at Thai or Asian markets. The peanut dipping sauce is out of this world, and a compliment to this perfect spring roll recipe.

I first had these as vegan spring rolls at our local Thai restaurant. I came home and knew I had to make them, with some adjustments. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls is phenomenal! Give this spring roll recipe a try for a light lunch or appetizer. I share a video tutorial on how to make homemade spring rolls.

With a few steps, and some fresh produce you too can make these rice paper rolls or rice rolls. They are called different things depending on where you live. Try my cold shrimp salad recipe as well for another healthy shrimp recipe.

These Spring Rolls Are…

  • Quick and easy to make. If you use shrimp cocktail there is no cooking that is needed.
  • Made with fresh produce so each bite is crisp and refreshing. You will find each bite is crunchy.
  • A healthy appetizer or even lunch or dinner option for you to whip up.
  • Very easy to adjust the filling to fit your personal preference. If you don’t like something simply leave it out.
  • Can be made vegan if you are a vegan or want a vegetarian spring roll recipe.
  • Thai restaurant inspired, along with the creamy peanut butter sauce for dipping.
ingredients for spring rolls on metal container

Ingredients

Rice Paper Rolls – I got ours at Walmart you will find that depending on where you live there are different brands.

Vermicelli Noodles – These are optional but they do help add filling to the spring rolls. You just want to use thin rice noodles if you opt to place noodles in the rolls.

Lettuce – You will slice up the lettuce, a piece of lettuce filled in the rice-paper wrappers.

Cucumbers – Slice into very thin strips.

Carrots – I used a peeler to create very thin strips. I used my Julienne peeler to get this. I find prepping whole carrots over mini carrots offers better flavor.

Shrimp – Pre-cooked shrimp that is sliced in half. I used medium-sized shrimp. Now you can leave out the shrimp or replace it with chicken, pork, or even steak.

Peanut Sauce Ingredients

  • Peanut Butter – I recommend using creamy.
  • Rice Vinegar
  • Soy sauce – You can use low-sodium or Tamari
  • Honey – Agave can also be used as a sweetening agent. Or if you need a sugar-free alternative go right ahead.
  • Sesame Oil
  • Water
  • Hoisin Sauce

How to Make

Learn how to make spring rolls, this is a quick walkthrough. The full directions are in the printable recipe card below.

spring roll on a cutting board filled with vegetables and shrimp
  1. First, cook your noodles as directed on the package. Then drain and run under cold water.
  2. Next, fill a pie plate with a few tablespoons of water. Then dip your rice paper in the water for about 20 seconds give or take. You want the paper to be pliable but don’t let it become too soft. Depending on the brand the water time varies.
  3. Place rice paper on the work table and add on all your vegetables, and the shrimp.
  4. Now you will roll tightly and make sure to pull in the sides like rolling a burrito.
  5. Repeat till they are all done. Dip a paper towel in water, and then place it over the spring rolls to keep them damp.
  6. Finally, for making the peanut sauce mix the ingredients together and then serve with your shrimp spring rolls.

Storing

You can store these spring rolls for 2-3 hours once they are made. The rice paper rolls can dry out, so if you do want to make them, you have to place damp paper towels over the top of the spring rolls.

Otherwise, they will become dry, and you can find the paper becomes chewy.

Variations To Recipe

  • Leave out the noodles or swap even with brown rice noodles
  • Cilantro
  • Any spring vegetables you want
  • Fresh Mint
  • Add chili sauce for a kick of spice.
  • Leave out the shrimp to make vegan
  • Add in chicken, steak, or even pork that is thinly sliced
  • Dice up red or green cabbage
  • Bell Peppers
  • Etc.

Tips on How to Work With Rice Paper Wraps

Soften the Rice Paper – When you go to soak the paper, you want to place in warm water. Use a shallow dish, and submerge it for just 10-15 seconds. Don’t oversoak or it will become too difficult to handle.

Damp Towel – Place your wet rice paper on a damp paper towel so it doesn’t stick to the surface. This will help in wrapping.

Don’t Overfill – Make sure to not overfill the rice paper wrap. If you do, it will make it hard to wrap the rice paper. Work quickly as the paper wrap needs to be wrapped quickly after it has been dipped.

Rolling – Start by folding the sides in, and then roll the bottom edge over the filling, and wrap it tightly. This takes time and practice.

Cover With A Damp Paper Towel – Once you wrap your rice paper wraps place a damp paper towel or rag on top. This is going to keep the papers from drying out until you serve them up.

a chip being dipped into a bowl of guacamole

If you are constantly craving Mexican food, you aren’t alone! We can’t get enough of my Mexican shrimp guacamole bites, Mexican chicken spaghetti casserole, or Instant Pot Mexican street corn.

Why you will enjoy this homemade guacamole…

  • Easy recipe for even when you are short on time.
  • Tastes incredible!
  • Family-friendly appetizer, dip, or snack.
  • Easy to customize to fit your personal preference.
  • Great for parties, tailgating, or a simple snack.
  • Homemade chips are the perfect flavor combination!
guacamole, red onion, salt, pepper, and tomatoes sitting on counter

Ingredients

Avocados – Choose ripe avocados that are slightly soft to the touch. They will be the easiest to work with and will give you the best flavor.

Lime Juice – Nothing beats fresh lime juice! Stay away from the pre-packaged juice because it won’t have as bold of a flavor as fresh does. Consider using this lemon and lime squeezer, it is great for getting the most out of your citrus.

Seasonings – You’ll need a combination of salt and garlic powder to give the homemade guacamole the ultimate flavor

Tomato – We prefer to use Roma tomatoes because they hold their shape well when diced and taste great too.

Onion – Add some purple onion to really enhance the flavors! It’s fine to adjust the amount based on your preference. Try this vegetable chopper to create evenly sized pieces of onion.

Cilantro – It’s best to use fresh cilantro, not only because it tastes better, but you can also use it as a vibrant garnish too.

Corn tortillas – If you haven’t made your own chips yet, now is the time! It’s also fine to swap the corn tortillas for flour.

Oil – Vegetable oil is our preference for frying tortilla chips, however, you could use your favorite type of oil instead.

How to Make

You can find the full written directions in the printable recipe card on how to make guacamole.

Top Tips

  • The avocados you pick will affect the final results, so don’t choose an avocado that is too ripe or underripe. When you give the avocado a slight squeeze it should feel slightly soft.
  • When you overmix the guacamole the texture will be affected. Instead, just stir until the ingredients are incorporated, and serve.
  • If you want more salt, go ahead and add another sprinkle!
  • It’s okay to add fresh jalapenos for a kick or add more seasonings to taste. Another option is to add red pepper flakes for some heat.

Storing

Before storing leftover guacamole, drizzle with more fresh lime juice. This will help prevent it from turning brown. Then keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1-2 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you serve guacamole?

Homemade guacamole can be served in all sorts of ways. It’s fine on its own with tortilla chips, but there are many options! Add it to any of your favorite Mexican-inspired dishes. Use it to add flavor to your fish, steak, or pork. Mix it into scrambled eggs or enjoy it spread on a sandwich.

Can I make guacamole without cilantro?

Of course! Leave it out entirely, or swap it for another fresh herb, such as parsley or oregano. If you leave out the cilantro, you may want to increase the salt and add some extra garlic powder. Taste test it before serving and add extra seasonings as desired.

What can I use instead of lime juice?

If you don’t have or don’t want to use lime juice, it’s fine to use lemon juice instead. No matter which juice you use, be sure it’s fresh to get the most out of this easy guacamole recipe!

What is the healthiest thing to eat with guacamole?

Fresh crisp veggies are best for dipping into guacamole. Carrot sticks, celery, cucumbers, etc. Or you can use rice cakes or even pork rinds to still reach for that crunch factor.

Are there any benefits to eating guacamole?

Guacamole is loaded with fresh vegetables and especially avocado. Avocados are great for helping to lower cholesterol and lower your heart risk.

  • Next add in the lime juice, garlic powder, and salt.
  • Add in the diced tomatoes, onions, and chopped cilantro. Mix well to combine.
  • Season with more salt or garlic as needed. Then serve with tortilla chips or preferred dippers. Or top your favorite Mexican cuisine.

How to Make Tortilla Chips

  • Start by slicing the tortillas into 8 wedges.
  • In a large heavy duty pot heat on medium-high heat. You want to add about 2-inches of oil in the pan. Heat to 350 degrees.
  • Fry the tortilla wedges in small batches, cooking for a minute on each side or until golden brown.
  • Place the cooked chips on a paper towel lined plate to soak up the excess oil from the chips.
  • Once the chips are done, sprinkle with salt, and repeat cooking more chips.

Notes

Avocado – Make sure to use fresh and ripe avocado for this recipe. Otherwise, you will find that the guacamole will lack flavor.
Season to Taste – Feel free to season the guacamole to taste. You can always add more lime juice if you need it as well.
Spicy – Want to spice up the flavor? Consider adding in some diced jalapeno. If you want remove the seeds to help tame the spice or add a few in for a spicy flavor.
Tortilla chips – You can make homemade tortillas or buy them from the store. Either will work.

This Mexican Elotes recipe has vibrant and bold flavors of sweet corn, cotija cheese, Mexican crema, mayo, fresh cilantro, tajin seasoning, and zesty lime juice! Mexican street corn is a delicious side to all of your Mexican-inspired meals.

This is my spin on homemade Elotes, and it won’t leave you disappointed. Made in just 15 minutes, it’s slathered in tasty crema, mayo, and more!

Whether you are hosting dinner or want something festive and new, be sure to try out my Mexican shrimp guacamole bites, Mexican chicken spaghetti casserole, Instant Pot Mexican casserole, or easy taco cornbread casserole.

What is Elote?

Elote is a Mexican street corn that is bursting with flavor. Sweet corn that is cooked to perfection and then smothered in a creamy mayonnaise-based sauce and topped with spices, Cotija cheese, and more. This Mexican Elote corn is such a popular side dish.

Why you will enjoy this Mexican Elotes recipe…

Here is my top reason why I love this Mexican street corn recipe!

  • It tastes like a carnival or festival food!
  • Only 7 ingredients.
  • Super flavorful!
  • Gorgeous presentation for entertaining!
  • Less than 20 minutes from start to finish!
  • Kid-friendly.

Ingredients

Corn – You’ll need to find in-season corn on the cob for this Mexican Elotes recipe. Be sure to remove the husks for easier eating. Try these easy corn-on-the-cob holders for less mess when it comes to eating.

Cojita Cheese – Using Cojita cheese adds a ton of flavor and gives it the traditional Mexican street corn appearance.

Mexican Crema – Oh, it doesn’t get better than Mexican Crema! What makes Mexican crema so good is that it has a higher fat content and doesn’t have the tanginess sour cream typically has.

Mayonnaise – Adds more creaminess and a touch of zestiness. Be sure to use real mayo and not Miracle Whip because they aren’t the same!

Lime – Lime juice pairs beautifully with the other flavors. Plus, it balances the creaminess and sweetness of the corn.

Cilantro – If you aren’t a fan of cilantro, it’s fine to omit it, but be sure to use chopped parsley or oregano, at least. The street corn will look better with a “pop” of green color from the fresh herbs.

Tajin Seasoning – It has a lovely salty flavor with a hint of citrus and spice. It’s an excellent pairing with the corn on the cob.

Variations to Recipe

Sour cream – If you don’t have any Mexican crema, it’s fine to swap it for sour cream. While the result won’t be exactly the same, it will be similar.

Seasonings – It’s okay to swap the Tajin seasoning for your favorites. Chili powder is a great option. You can also add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper too.

Lemon – You can use lemon juice instead as an alternative to lime juice. While it is a little different flavor, the Mexican Elotes need some citrus to balance the flavors.

Feta cheese – If you can’t access Cojita cheese, you can use Feta instead. They taste similar, and both have a crumbly texture.

How to Make

You’ll find the full printable recipe card below on how to make Mexican Elotes from scratch.

collage of assembling elote corn on cutting board
  1. Boil the corn until it is tender.
  2. Combine the mayonnaise, lime juice, and Mexican crema in a bowl. Mix well.
  3. Chop the fresh cilantro finely.
  4. Drain the corn and let cool for 10 minutes or so.
  5. Using a pastry brush, add the sauce on top. Sprinkle with Cojita cheese, tajin seasoning, and chopped cilantro. Serve and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • Always use fresh corn on the cob. It tastes the best, and the texture would be greatly affected by using frozen.
  • For a fun twist, roast or grill it instead of boiling it. Traditional Mexican street corn is made on the grill.
  • While you can eat the corn chilled, it tastes way better when it’s hot. Serve immediately for best results.

Storing

Wrap each piece of street corn in aluminum foil or a piece of plastic wrap. Then put it in a sealed container. It will last up to 5 days.

Reheat in the oven to 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes for best results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mexican Elotes spicy?

No, it’s typically spicy. There is a subtle spice from the Tajin, but it’s truly not strong. Add chili powder or cayenne pepper if you want it to be spicy. It would also be good with red pepper flakes for some added heat.

Can I make Mexican Street Corn without the cob?

Yes, it’s okay if you want to cut the corn off the cob with a sharp knife. Then drizzle it with sauce, and lime juice, then add the cilantro and Tajin seasoning. It makes it easier to eat off the cob, which is especially good when feeding kids.

Can I make Mexican Elotes for a crowd?

Yes! Prepare as much Mexican street corn as you need working in batches. I recommend storing it in a slow cooker on warm until you are ready to serve. Another option is to keep it warm in an oven at 150 degrees F.

Homemade fresh salsa recipe is an easy 10-minute side dish that is filled with hearty tomatoes, red onions, spicy jalapenos, tangy lime juice, and cilantro! This no-cook salsa is the perfect side to any meal.

What makes my easy salsa recipe the best is that I always use fresh ingredients instead of canned ones. So the result is incredible every single time! Try this chunky salsa for dipping in chips, topping tacos, and more.

homemade salsa in a bowl garnished with cilantro

Trust me when I say you aren’t going to want to miss my fresh watermelon salsa, strawberry salsa, or mango salsa. They are all delicious and easy to make too!

Why you will enjoy homemade salsa…

Here are some reasons why I love serving this easy salsa recipe! Give it a try!

  • Only 7 ingredients!
  • Made with fresh produce.
  • The perfect combination of spicy and tangy.
  • An easy dish or appetizer for any time of year!
  • A crowd favorite at potlucks, barbecues, and parties.
ingredients for salsa on table. Tomatoes, red onion, jalapeno, lime, cilantro, and salt and pepper

Ingredients

Tomatoes – I recommend using Roma tomatoes because they are sturdy and hold up well. They don’t become mushy as other varieties of tomatoes get.

Onion – My preference is red onion because it adds a pop of color and tastes great too. It’s also fine to go with a sweet onion instead.

Jalapenos – For spicier jalapenos, look for peppers with slightly wrinkly skin and with fine lines on the outside. They tend to be much hotter!

Lime – Not only does a juiced lime add flavor, but it also keeps the ingredients nice and fresh!

Cilantro – You really can’t swap the cilantro for anything but fresh. Dried cilantro doesn’t have that kick of flavor most people are looking for in good guacamole.

Salt & Pepper – Feel free to add more or less depending on how you like it!

Variations to Recipe

  • Cucumbers – Chop up some cucumber pretty finely. It adds to the texture and tastes great too.
  • Bell Peppers – Another tasty ingredient you can add to this salsa recipe is bell peppers.
  • Charred Corn – If you are looking for a unique addition, go for some charred corn. It tastes fabulous and looks great too.
  • Seasonings – Feel free to add any of your favorite seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or a dash of cayenne pepper.

How to Make

Check out the full directions on how to make salsa in the printable recipe card below.

  1. Chop the tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and cilantro.

Expert Tips For Making Salsa

  • Always choose ripe ingredients – Because this salsa is made with fresh vegetables, picking what is ripe is important to get the most flavor.
  • Adjust the spiciness – If you like it extra hot, mix in more jalapenos or add some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to taste.
  • Don’t skip the lime juice – It helps balance the flavors of the tomatoes and onions. You can swap it for lemon juice if you are out of limes.
  • Let the salsa rest – While you can serve it right away, allowing it to sit for an hour or so gives the flavors time to develop more.
  • Chop Salsa – I made chunky salsa. You are welcome to add ingredients to a food processor and pulse lightly to make a smoother salsa if you prefer. The size of the ingredients does change the flavor.

Storing

In the fridge, keep the salsa in a sealed container for up to 3-5 days. Give the salsa a stir before you go and use it to ensure all the flavors incorporate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you freeze salsa?

Yes, it’s fine to freeze homemade salsa! Place it in a freezer-safe container, only filling 2/3 full. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge before serving. Be sure to stir well and enjoy! Just know the texture will be softer once it is thawed from being frozen.

Is it okay to use canned tomatoes?

While I prefer using fresh tomatoes, it’s fine to use canned. The flavor won’t be as bold, but it will still be good. Chop them up or buy petite diced canned tomatoes.

What do I serve with homemade salsa?

Serve with traditional tortilla chips, or add it to some eggs for a fun spin! It’s also excellent on tacos, stuffed in burritos, added to salads, or mixed into casseroles. Another great option is to serve it with salmon, grilled chicken, or a juicy steak.

  • Broken Waffle Cones
  • Pretzels
  • Etc.

Variations and Tips To Dessert Cheeseball

Cake Mix: You can use a different flavor of cake mix. Funfetti cake mix, strawberry, or even a yellow cake mix would work good.

Cook Cake Mix: Cake mixes are typically not intended to be consumed raw, as they contain raw flour and eggs which may carry a risk of foodborne illness. Heat oven to 350F, and spread cake mix on a baking sheet in a thin layer. Cook for 5 minutes to kill off any bacteria. Let cool then mix as you would.

Flavor: You can add a drop or two of extract to sweeten the cheeseball even more. From vanilla, almond, or even a raspberry flavor. Feel free to play with the flavor if you want.

Tips for Shaping Cheeseball

Reach for plastic wrap to place your dough ball on. Then use the plastic wrap around the ball. I place the ball in the center of wrap and then lift all the plastic edges to center. Then twist to get plastic tight, and then use hands to shape into a ball.

This helps to create a nice round cheeseball. Then when ready you can unwrap and roll in the coconut flakes carefully.

Storing

How to Refrigerate

Dessert cheeseballs can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. Here’s how to store them properly:

  1. Wrap the cheeseball in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Make sure it is tightly wrapped to prevent air from getting in and drying out the cheeseball.
  2. Place the wrapped cheeseball in an airtight container or a resealable plastic bag. This will provide an extra layer of protection against air and moisture.
  3. Store the cheeseball in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Before serving, allow the cheeseball to come to room temperature for 15-20 minutes to soften slightly.

How to Freeze

If you don’t eat all your cheeseball right away, it can be frozen. Here is how I freeze leftovers.

  1. Wrap the cheeseball tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Make sure it is wrapped securely to prevent freezer burn and keep out air.
  2. Place the wrapped cheeseball in a resealable plastic bag or airtight container. Label the container with the date and contents so you can keep track of when it was frozen.
  3. Freeze the cheeseball for up to 2 months.
  4. When you’re ready to serve the cheeseball, remove it from the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.

FAQs

Do I need to allow the cheeseball to set up before serving?

If you are in a hurry you can assemble and serve your cheeseball right after it is made. Refrigerating allows the mixture to harden a bit, but doesn’t have to be done if you are short on time.

What if I don’t want to use coconut to roll cheeseball in?

Shave white chocolate or white sprinkles to get a similar texture to the coconut. Or leave it bare if you don’t want to have either of those on the bunny butt dessert.

How to make sure the tail stays in place on cheeseball?

If you find the tail wants to roll a bit sitting on top of the bunny shaped ball. Simply use a toothpick to hold it in shape. Poke on the bottom side of the tail then place into the larger ball. You can do the same for the bunny feet.

  • 16 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white cake mix
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup colorful sprinkles
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 8 pink M&M’s candies

Instructions

  • To make the bunny butt dessert, start by combining cream cheese, sugar, and cake mix in a large bowl until evenly distributed. Then, add sprinkles and white chocolate chips to the mixture and stir until combined.
  • Next, use the dough to form a large ball for the bunny’s body, two medium-sized balls for the feet, and one small ball for the tail. Roll the dessert balls in shredded coconut until they are fully covered.
  • To assemble the bunny butt, place the two medium-sized balls for the feet on a serving plate or cutting board and shape them with your hands. Add the small ball for the tail and press all three balls gently into the large dessert ball until they stick.
  • Finally, add pink M&M’s to create the bunny’s paws by placing them “m” side down. Chill the bunny butt dessert until you’re ready to serve it. It goes well with graham crackers and/or vanilla wafers.

Heat Treat Cake Mix: Place cake mix in a thin layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 5 minutes. Then allow the cake mix to fully cool. This will kill off any bacteria on the raw flour.
Coating Cheeseball: You can use white chocolate that is shaved to roll in the cheeseball if you don’t want to use coconut flakes.
Cake Mix: Any flavor of cake mix works. From funfetti, yellow, or even a strawberry flavored cake mix.
Refrigerate: Refrigerate the leftovers or until ready to serve in a covered container.

👩‍🍳Tips for Success

  • Choose the right sweet potatoes: Look for sweet potatoes that are firm and have smooth skin without any cracks or soft spots. The best sweet potatoes for making fries are those that are long and thin.
  • Peel sweet potatoes: Sweet potato skins are going to be chewy so make sure to peel your potatoes before you go to slice them.
  • Cut the sweet potatoes into uniform pieces: It’s important to cut the sweet potatoes into uniform pieces so that they cook evenly. Try to cut them into thin sticks, about 1/4 inch wide.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 3 medium to large sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

Marshmallow Sauce

  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
  • Peel, and slice your potatoes into thin strips, I did 1/4 inch thick strips. Rinse your potatoes well once you slice them.
  • Pat the sweet potato strips dry and then place in a large bowl.
  • Add melted butter, salt and cinnamon. Toss well to coat all the potatoes.
  • Place the sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 5 minutes and then shake the basket.
  • Continue cooking for around 12 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes.
  • Once done place in a bowl and toss with brown sugar.

Marshmallow Dip

  • Melt butter in a saucepan with the marshmallows on medium heat. Mix constantly to ensure the marshmallows don't burn.
  • Once marshmallows are melted slowly stir the heavy cream into the marshmallow mixture, whisking slowly.
  • Once the sauce is thick and creamy, pour into a bowl and serve with the fresh hot cinnamon sweet potato fries.

Notes

Air Fryer – You need to make sure you place your potatoes in a single layer. Otherwise it will not bake it properly.
Thickness- Make sure to slice your potatoes in even slices, otherwise it will cook the potatoes unevenly.
Doneness – Sweet potato fries are done when the outside is golden brown and the potato is soft and tender on the inside. Depending on the air fryer and thickness of fries the cook time can vary.
Marshmallow Sauce – When the sauce cools it will solidify. You can warm it up in the microwave to create that creamy sauce again.

Tips for Making Wings In Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer: Preheating your air fryer will help ensure that your wings cook evenly and get crispy on all sides.
  • Pat dry the wings: Use paper towels to pat the wings dry before seasoning them. This will help remove excess moisture and ensure that the seasoning sticks to the wings.
  • Season the wings: Season the wings with your favorite spices or a dry rub. You can also marinate the wings in a sauce for added flavor.
  • Use cooking spray: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent the wings from sticking.
  • Cook at high temperature: Set your air fryer to 400°F and cook the wings for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking.
  • Shake the basket: Give the basket a good shake every few minutes to ensure that the wings cook evenly on all sides.
  • Check for doneness: Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the wings, which should reach 165°F for safe consumption.
  • Toss with sauce: Once the wings are done, toss them in your favorite sauce or glaze, or serve them plain with dipping sauce on the side.
  • Let them rest: Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute and for the wings to crisp up even more.

Storing

Store the leftover chicken wings in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. You can store them in the refrigerator for up to four days or in the freezer for up to three months.

To reheat the chicken wings, preheat your oven to 350°F or your air fryer to 400°F.

If the wings are frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.

Place the wings on a baking sheet or in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them to allow the heat to circulate.

Reheat the wings for 8-10 minutes, or until they are heated through and crispy.

If you want to reheat the wings in the microwave, place them on a microwave-safe plate and cover them with a damp paper towel. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through. However, reheating in the microwave may result in a less crispy texture.

Check the internal temperature of the wings with a meat thermometer to ensure that they have reached a safe temperature of 165°F.

Serve the reheated chicken wings immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
